My big swim in the SF Bay
Amazing. Simply amazing. I swam in the SF bay at the South End Rowing club with a friend of mine – we swam 1.5 miles in 57 degree water with no wetsuit – we had sea level views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito and Angel island – it was amazing. I was on a high for days after that. Afterwards, we sat up on top of the roof and smoked, talked and watch the sunset and the fog roll in under the Golden Gate Bridge. Swimming, its a lifestyle.
What’s up with “two” of everything?
What is up with the Republicans and their mantra to have two of everything – the “real” Virginia, the “real” America, central and western Illinois — what? I mean its like they want to divide the country into this fault line of blue collar workers (the real America) and the white collar city workers – how is this unifying anyone? I know plenty of academics in rural America and plenty of blue coller workers in big cities.. why is this important? They are causing a big problem I think in perception amongst countrymen and I that this is just bad. Ok so I am probably a fake American because I lived in Boston but now in the Netherlands, but I am flying home to vote!
Scariest woman in the world… and she has clones
Okay, count me in – I will finally post a Palin news story just because as a woman she represents all that is wrong with women who are climbing their way up the corporate or political ladder – relying on diva-like behavior that sends us backwards and makes the system even more leary of involving us – like a big old massive “eye roll”
This CNN article says it all – she’s looking out for her future and that is all. Frankly, McCain was better off without her. Bad gamble the party took and now Pandora’s box is open and you can’t shut off a woman who has canoodled her way up the ladder with her looks.

Celebrities need to keep their mouths shut
So you know how much I dislike Oprah - but I will also say that I don’t get this celebrity political endorsement – here is the thing – I don’t want them to preach to me about politics or flit around campaigning because I don’t consider them important. They are entertainers, they read lines that someone else’s gives them and they do what they are told on TV or in movies. I don’t care what they think or what they say or who they endorse because they are all about their own reputation and their image and you can’t trust anyone that puts their image first. I have more respect for a stranger off the street that I can have a conversation about current affairs and who sweeps floors at a public school than a celebrity. Keep your fracking mouths shut!
